سزاؤں اور ان کے اثرات پر طویل مباحث اور کتابیں لکھی جا چکی ہیں اور اب مہذب دینا کا اتفاق ہے کہ ایسی سزاؤں سے جرم نہیں رکتے لیکن معاشروں میں بے حسی اور شدت پسندی بڑھتی ہے۔
