صحافیوں کی طرف سے اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ میں دائر درخواست سے نسیم زہرہ نے اپنا نام واپس لینے کا اعلان کردیا ہے۔ نسیم زہرہ نے اپنی ٹویٹ میں لکھا کہ انہیں تو یہ بتایا گیا تھا کہ یہ پیٹیشن میڈیا کی آزادی سے متعلق ہے، انہیں علم نہیں تھا کہ یہ تو ایک مفرور کے حقوق کے متعلق ہے۔

نسیم زہرہ نے ایک ٹویٹ کا جواب دیتے ہوئے مزید لکھا کہ یہ انسانی حقوق سے متعلق اچھی پیٹیشن ہے مگر میرے لئے بطور صحافی میڈیا کی آزادی سے متعلق درخواست کو صرف ایک ہی اشو پر فوکسڈ نہیں ہونا چاہئے، درجنوں ایسے اور معاملات ہیں جن میں حکومت / اسٹیبلشمنٹ کی طرف سے صحافیوں اور چینلز پر پابندی لگا کر میڈیا کی آزادی کو سلب کیا جاتا ہے۔
