پاکستان ٹیلی کمیونیکیشن نے ٹویٹ کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ وکی پیڈیا کو پاکستان میں 48 گھنٹوں کیلئے بین کردیا گیا ہے۔ پی ٹی اے کے مطابق وکی پیڈیا کو گستاخانہ مواد ہٹانے کیلئے ریکوئسٹ بھیجی گئی تھی جس پر انہوں نے کوئی ردعمل نہیں دیا۔ پی ٹی اے نے لکھا کہ وکی پیڈیا کو بطور وارننگ 48 گھنٹوں کیلئے بین / ڈی گریڈ کیا گیا ہے اگر گستاخانہ مواد نہ ہٹایا گیا تو وکی پیڈیا کو پاکستان میں مستقل طور پر بین کردیا جائے گا۔
