Wajahat S Khan's tweet against his friends Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada and Shahbaz Gill

I’m leaving the #GangOf4

My take is simple: I was censored by my colleague/s out of a show which I co-own and co-produce. My views were removed without my permission, nor any warning, for a flimsy reason.

Earlier on July 11, I helped co-produce the latest version of #gangof4 for Sabir Shakir's channel. But the actual broadcast revealed that almost 10 minutes of my views -- and only mine -- were wiped clean. Here's the link to that broadcast: https://youtube.com/watch?v=huu_fdlw23M&list=PLcq5NgtT0CNpkltKBIeo6l7znrLll8T18

Considering that Moeed Pirzda, Shahbaz Gill, Sabir Shakir and I do the show together, and on a round-robin basis, with nothing ever censored, I tried to find out why I was censored out of this program.

The excuse that I was given by Sabir was: "Barrister reviewed, he suggested, because our vlogs strictly monitored اور پھر نئے مقدمات فوج میں بغاوت کا الزام , they have plan new cases against us. So some precautions ضروری۔"

This is disingenuous, and a fallacy. No lawyers have been reviewing the shows. And if they are being shown this production, with whose permission? And who are these lawyers?

I maintain that this censorship by my collegue/s has been done to please the military, as well as other members of the media establishment.

But it’s over. The show was a good run, till it wasn’t. This is goodbye to an important digital media venture that tried to push the envelope on challenging the dark status quo in Pakistan.

But besides this being a last tribute, it’s also a must watch show.
