Chinese troops reportedly prevented Indian troops from carrying out patrols in what New Delhi considers to be its own territory in north Ladakh last week, in yet another sign of the lingering unease along the disputed border between the two Asian giants.
Vehicle-borne Chinese soldiers stopped the Indian Army from carrying out surveillance of the area, insisting that the Indians had forayed into what Beijing considers to be its territory in the Ladakh sector.
The Indian patrol team was shown banners that said that they had entered Chinese territory and must retreat.
More than 150 Chinese incursions have been reported this year so far, but Beijing has been silent on the count of Indian outings inside its perceived territory.
